What a Plexivo partner earns: worked examples for Indian agencies

Every agency owner asks the same question before joining a partner programme: what does it actually pay, month by month, for a portfolio like mine? This article answers it with numbers you can check, from a handful of small client sites to a portfolio of a hundred.

Every figure below comes from the published programme terms on the Plexivo Partners page. Your own figure will depend on what your clients run, so treat these as worked examples, not forecasts.

How are Plexivo partner earnings worked out?

Three things decide what you earn in a month.

Your tier. It comes from your clients' eligible infrastructure billing in the previous month. The more your clients run on Plexivo, the higher the tier.

Any prepaid bonus. When you prepay credit into your partner wallet at or above a step, a bonus adds to your tier on the billing that credit covers.

What counts. Only your clients' Plexivo App Runner, Plexivo Postgres, Plexivo Cache and Plexivo Kubernetes billing counts. Plan fees, taxes, payment charges and pass-through charges are left out.

After each month closes, the statement is worked out from the billing your clients actually paid, excluding GST, and credited to your partner wallet. You can watch it build up during the month under Business → Earnings in the partner console.

What are the tiers and prepaid bonuses?

TierEarningClients' eligible billing in the previous month
Registered5%From US$0
Silver10%US$250+
Gold15%US$1,000+
Platinum18%US$5,000+
Enterprise20%US$10,000+

There are 4 prepaid bonus steps:

Prepay at leastBonus on top of your tier
US$250+2%
US$1,000+3%
US$5,000+4%
US$10,000+5%

A bonus applies to the eligible billing its prepaid credit covers, for 12 months. Tier and bonus together never go above 20%.

A note on the founding launch rate

The programme opens by application, and the first agencies join as founding partners. Founding partners start at a launch rate of up to 10% while the programme is measured together, and the tiers above open as it grows. Your current terms always appear in your partner console, so you never have to guess which rate applies to you.

The examples below show each tier as published. Where an example goes above 10%, read it as where the tiers lead, with the launch rate applying first.

Example 1: five small client sites

Many agencies start with small brochure sites and simple web apps. Say you host 5 clients, each on the smallest Plexivo App Runner, Plexivo Postgres and Plexivo Cache. Together those three come to US$24.96 a month per client.

  • Eligible billing: 5 × US$24.96 = US$124.80 a month.
  • Tier: Registered, 5%.
  • Earnings: US$6.24 a month, US$74.88 a year.

It is a small figure, and it is honest. The real value at this size is the structure: every client in its own organisation, with its own login, wallet and GST invoices, all visible from Customers in one console.

Example 2: ten growing clients

Now take 10 clients who spend about US$30 each on infrastructure. That is US$300 of eligible billing a month, which crosses the Silver threshold.

  • Eligible billing: US$300 a month.
  • Tier: Silver, 10%.
  • Earnings: US$30 a month, US$360 a year.

Silver sits exactly at the founding launch rate, so this example is what a founding partner earns today on that portfolio.

A related case: 20 clients, each on the smallest Plexivo App Runner, Plexivo Postgres and Plexivo Cache, come to US$499.20 a month. That is also Silver at 10%, or US$49.92 a month and US$599.04 a year.

Example 3: a Gold portfolio

Say you host 10 clients at an average of US$100 of infrastructure each. That is US$1,000 a month of eligible billing, which reaches Gold.

  • Eligible billing: US$1,000 a month.
  • Tier: Gold, 15%.
  • Earnings: US$150 a month, US$1,800 a year.

During the founding period, that same US$1,000 earns at the launch rate of up to 10%: up to US$100 a month, or US$1,200 a year.

Adding a prepaid bonus

Suppose you also prepay US$1,000 into your partner wallet. That step adds 3% on the billing the prepaid credit covers. Gold at 15% plus 3% gives 18%.

  • Earnings: US$180 a month, US$2,160 a year.

Prepaying is also practical. It gives you one balance in Money → Wallet to move to clients as they need it.

Example 4: a Platinum agency

A larger agency with 50 clients at an average of US$100 each runs US$5,000 a month of eligible billing.

  • Tier: Platinum, 18%.
  • Earnings: US$900 a month, US$10,800 a year.

As with every example above 10%, founding partners start at the launch rate and move to the published tiers as the programme opens.

Example 5: an Enterprise portfolio

At the top, 100 clients at an average of US$100 each come to US$10,000 a month.

  • Tier: Enterprise, 20%.
  • Earnings: US$2,000 a month, US$24,000 a year.

20% is the ceiling. No combination of tier and prepaid bonus goes higher, which keeps the programme simple to plan around.

How do rupees fit in?

Every Plexivo wallet is in US dollars, so tiers, thresholds and earnings are all in US dollars too. That keeps your statements steady from one month to the next.

You and your clients still pay in rupees. Top-ups are paid by UPI, card or net banking at the month's rate: the RBI reference rate on the 1st of the month plus a 2% conversion margin, fixed for the whole month. Indian customers pay 18% GST and receive a GST tax invoice in rupees, with the GSTIN on it. The GST invoices guide walks through what each invoice shows.

For a rupee view of any example, multiply the US dollar figure by that month's rate. Your console shows the amount in rupees before you pay.

What grows your earnings over time?

The examples point to three levers, in order of how much they move the result.

  1. More eligible infrastructure. Your tier follows your clients' Plexivo App Runner, Plexivo Postgres, Plexivo Cache and Plexivo Kubernetes billing. Moving an existing client in usually matters more than any bonus.
  2. Prepaying at a step. A prepaid bonus of 2–5% adds to your tier on the billing it covers, for 12 months.
  3. Keeping clients running. Earnings come from billing your clients actually paid. A client whose wallet runs dry pauses, so balances matter. The console shows each client's balance and how many days it lasts, and Plexivo emails when about 7 days of credit are left, with a final reminder at about 2 days. Your agency gets its own note too.

Where do I see my earnings in the console?

The partner console is built around your business rather than servers.

  • Home charts client billing, your earnings and your tier, with the pace you are on towards the next one.
  • Business → Earnings shows the month so far and every past statement.
  • Business → Reports exports the figures for your accounts team.
  • Money → Invoices holds Plexivo's invoices to you, with GST shown separately.

FAQ

Is the tier based on this month or last month?

On last month. Your clients' eligible infrastructure billing in the previous month sets this month's tier, so you always know your rate before the month begins.

What is the most a partner can earn?

20% of clients' eligible infrastructure billing, combining tier and any prepaid bonus. Founding partners start at a launch rate of up to 10% while the programme is measured together.

Do plan fees count towards earnings?

No. Only Plexivo App Runner, Plexivo Postgres, Plexivo Cache and Plexivo Kubernetes billing counts. Plan fees, taxes, payment charges and pass-through charges do not.

Where are earnings paid?

Into your partner wallet, after each month closes. From there you can move the credit to any client's wallet, from that client's billing in Customers.

Can I see the examples with my own numbers?

Yes. The partners page has a calculator with sliders for clients, average infrastructure per client and how much you prepay.

Why are the amounts in US dollars?

Every Plexivo wallet is in US dollars. In India you pay in rupees at the month's fixed rate plus GST, and receive GST tax invoices in rupees.

Start with your own portfolio

Count the client sites you look after today, note roughly what each runs, and find your tier in the table above. Then apply to become a partner: every application is reviewed by hand, and you will see your terms in the partner console from the first day.
