Migration guides
Step-by-step guides for moving apps and databases to Plexivo from Heroku, Render, Railway, DigitalOcean App Platform or your own server.
Each guide moves one kind of setup to Plexivo App Runner and Plexivo Postgres, from taking stock to switching DNS. Your old setup keeps serving until you change DNS, so you can test everything on Plexivo first and go back at any point before the switch.
Choose your guide#
Every move, in eight steps#
- Take stock of your processes, settings, databases, scheduled jobs and domains.
- Create the app from Git or a container image, or ask Plexivo AI to plan it with its price.
- Copy your settings into the app’s environment and Plexivo Secrets.
- Move the database. Plexivo copies a PostgreSQL database for you, or you load a dump.
- Add your domain and prove you own it. Plexivo looks after the certificate.
- Switch DNS once the app works on its
plexivo.appaddress. - Check it: routing, certificate, logs and your own tests.
- Retire the old setup after a few days as your way back.
Writes stop for the final copy of a database, so plan a short, announced switch. Plexivo does not promise a move without any downtime. What moves automatically and what you move yourself is listed in Migrate to Plexivo.
For teams in India#
- Your apps and databases run in Mumbai, and backups are copied to Hyderabad. Your databases, stored app data and backups are stored in India. See Data residency.
- Your wallet is in US dollars. You pay in rupees by UPI, card or netbanking, at this month’s rate plus 18% GST, and receive a GST tax invoice. See Paying from India.
- Try it first with the 14-day free trial. No credit card is needed.
